After the PM announcement yesterday, many of you will now need to stay at home; we understand this will create additional anxieties.

The announcement has also affected us as a practice particularly as some of our staff also need to stay at home for 12 weeks; this is in addition to those that are already isolating.  Our absolute priority is to ensure we have GPs and Nurses available to provide essential medical care; administrative functions must be scaled back to absolute minimum.

We have an emergency meeting planned with the partnership that is likely to result in further operational changes (see below) – this will not affect patients who do not have symptoms of COVID19 being seen so please do not worry.

Patients who do have symptoms of COVID19, which include a new continuous cough or a high temperature must self isolate for 7 days or 14 days if you live in a household.  Only contact NHS 111 online or if you do not have the internet NHS 111 IF YOUR SYMPTOMS WORSEN.  You must be patient, demand is high and calls are taking around 45 minutes, but you will get the advice you need.  Any emergency please use 999.

FIT NOTES – if you need to self isolate please use the online facility at  This does not apply if you are self isolating due to a household member.  First 7 seven days of any illness are by self certification (speak to your employer about this process).  If you do need a fit note, you must provide an email address for this to be sent to you, patients will not be permitted to enter the building for this purpose.

INSURANCE FORMS OR MEDICALS – non essential forms will NOT be completed at this time

REPEAT PRESCRIPTIONS – These must be ordered via (1) POD – (024) 7624 6072 who have a team of dedicated staff for this purpose, (2) NHS App – if you have registered, Patient Services – if you have registered, (4) your designated Pharmacy.  THE PRACTICE CANNOT ORDER REPEAT PRESCRIPTIONS -please be courteous to our staff when they remind you this.
