Care Home – New Meds (after Hospital Discharge)

Dear Care Home Manager,

Your care home should have received a 28-day supply of new medications for your resident when they were discharged from hospital.

We believe this should be the case, because:
“The provider will ensure the Service User is discharged with at least 7 days of medication. For Coventry and Warwickshire ICB, the local agreement is 28 days of medication supply, except when the Service User already has an adequate quantity”

  • Commissioning for Integrated Medicines Management (CIMM) Policy, NHS Coventry and Warwickshire Integrated Care Board, CIMM Policy, July 1, 2022, V1.0

If you have not received a 28-day supply of new medications and wish for us to therefore provide a supply of the new medication any sooner, please proceed to lodge a formal complaint with UHCW as below and provide us a copy of your complaint email to UHCW so we can forward the same to the ICB as well.
